Welcome to SAGE
Students Achieving, Guiding, Enriching
Welcome to SAGE @ UCSD. SAGE exists to enrich the education of budding computer science
students by giving them opportunities to assist their fellow students in a "students helping students"
atmosphere. Our goal is to provide more students the opportunity to achieve a higher
degree of confidence in their problem solving skills, guide future generations of computer scientists,
and have a more enriched educational experience at UCSD.
How it Works
Students join SAGE to gain hands-on tutoring experience in a "students helping students" atmosphere (i.e. the labs).
Our members volunteer their time because they want to gain invaluable tutoring experience. Therefore,
they should not be used for grading assignments or other work outside of the lab, unless they become a paid tutor
for the professor's classroom.
All SAGE members must have arrangements to help a professor before they join SAGE. In other words, students should only join SAGE after
they say to a professor, "I would like to volunteer to help tutor students for your class" and the professor says, "Souns good. Apply for SAGE
online and I'll approve your request."
